Cabinet Hikes MSP on Jute, Hails Health Mission

The Union Cabinet on Wednesday hailed the National Health Mission while apprising Prime Minister Narendra Modi of its progress and approved a minimum support price of ₹5,650 per quintal for raw jute for marketing season 2025-26, an increase of 6% or ₹315 over the previous MSP.

Briefing reporters about the decisions taken at the Cabinet meeting, Union minister Piyush Goyal said the mission has met historic targets in the last 10 years.
Goyal pointed out that nearly 12 lakh healthcare workers joined the National Health Mission (NHM) between 2021 and 2022 and India fought the Covid-19 pandemic under the mission.
