Union ministers, led by home minister Amit Shah, on Saturday slammed West Bengal chief ‘minister Mamata Banerjee and the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government, accusing them of “insulting’ President Droupadi Murmu and “disregarding” protocol during her visit to the state.

In a post on X, Shah said the ruling TMC “has sunk to new lows today through their anarchic conduct”. “By showing utter disregard for protocol, they have insulted the President of India,” he said in Bengali, adding that the incident has brought to light the “deep rot within the Trinamool government”.
