₹165 CRORE OF DEFENCE LAND FREED FROM ENCROACHMENT
Hindustan Times Uttarakhand
|July 04, 2025
In a major crackdown on encroachments, the defence estates office (DEO) of the Delhi circle, reclaimed nearly five acres of high-value defence land in Brar Square, Delhi Cantonment, from illegal occupation on Thursday.
The land, worth around ₹165 crore, had been under unauthorised use for years, with temporary shanties, dairies and other structures having mushroomed over time, said officials, adding that the anti-encroachment drive was initiated following a tip-off from a nearby military unit.
