Lac production has potential to eradicate poverty: Agri minister

State agriculture, animal husbandry, and cooperative minister Shilpi Neha Tirkey addressed farmers during a daylong regional lac cultivation training and toolkit distribution programme at Raitoli in the Lapung block of Ranchi on Sunday, where she underlined the importance of trees and lac production for farmers' prosperity.
"In the present era, the farmers of the state can become financially prosperous not only through their fields but also with the help of trees," she said.
The agriculture minister said lac cultivation has the potential to eradicate poverty if undertaken properly.
