DEHRADUN: Former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Kunwar Pranav Singh "Champion", who is lodged in Haridwar jail, was admitted to district hospital on Saturday night after he allegedly complained of abdomen-related problems, officers aware of the matter said on Sunday.

Four-time MLA Singh was arrested after he and his supporters allegedly opened fire at Khanpur MLA Umesh Kumar's office at Roorkee in Haridwar on January 26.

"Singh was admitted to hospital after he complained of loose motion and rectal bleeding. His condition is now stable and is under observation of doctors. All necessary medical tests, blood examinations, including ultrasound and X-ray, have been done. Some other medical examinations have been prescribed for him," said Dr Vijayesh Bhardwaj, principal medical superintendent at Haridwar district hospital.
