CPI(ML) Slams Centre's Tribal Policies at Ranchi Convention

CPI(ML) general secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya, addressing the first day of the two-day national convention of Adivasi Sangharsh Morcha at the Social Development Centre (SDC) on Sunday on Father Kamil Bulke Path in Ranchi, urged tribal people to take a lesson from the words of tribal icon Birsa Munda and fight for the protection of tribal land.

RANCHI: CPI(ML) general secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya, addressing the first day of the two-day national convention of Adivasi Sangharsh Morcha at the Social Development Centre (SDC) on Sunday on Father Kamil Bulke Path in Ranchi, urged tribal people to take a lesson from the words of tribal icon Birsa Munda and fight for the protection of tribal land.

"Birsa Munda taught us that wherever there is repression, there will be rebellion. We have to move forward with this spirit," Bhattacharya said.

Earlier, the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) leader accused the Narendra Modi-led Union government of formulating "corporate-friendly" policies and making legal protection for tribal land "ineffective." He also said the government suppresses voices raised against loot by implicating whistleblowers in false cases.
