Sanitary napkin disposal policy on anvil for schools

The state government will soon bring out a policy on disposal of sanitary napkins that are provided free to government schools aiming to reduce the plastic residue from the state's environment, said officials familiar with the matter.
JAIPUR:
"The draft policy is ready and has been cleared by the CMO (chief minister's office). The file has been sent to the finance department for approval. Once the department clears it and the budget is approved, the policy will be implemented," an official from the women empowerment department said.
The official further said that in the first phase, the project will be implemented on a pilot basis in Bassi block and a budget of ₹3 to ₹4 crore will be spent on this.
