Sanctuary maps altered to benefit hoteliers: RLP MP

Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) president and Lok Sabha MP Hanuman Beniwal said on Monday that officials, under political protection, have altered the maps of Rajasthan's Sariska (Alwar) and Nahargarh (Jaipur) wildlife sanctuaries to benefit hotel owners and mining operators.

He said on X that he had raised this issue in Parliament during the budget session, demanding the protection of forests and wildlife. Despite directions from the Supreme Court and the National Green Tribunal (NGT), Beniwal noted that commercial activities continue in these eco-sensitive zones, with authorities limiting their action to mere notices. He claimed over a dozen hotels are operating illegally in Alwar's Silisedh area and the Ajabgarh-Jamwaramgarh range, violating court orders.
