The upper-class girl likes the lower-class boy, sparks fly. An unexpected challenge comes up, and he is required to win.
No, I am not talking about Lagaan (2001) or Dhadak (2018) or any Hindi films from the '80s and '90s. The film in question — Azaad — is a 2025 release, which also happens to be a launch vehicle for Rasha Thadani, daughter of actor Raveena Tandon, and Aaman Devgan, actor Ajay Devgn's nephew.
The film begins with Govind's (Aaman) fascination with dacoit Vikram Singh's (Ajay Devgn) black horse named Azaad. As the plot progresses, Govind locks horns with Janaki (Rasha), daughter of landlord Rai Bahadur (Piyush Mishra). A parallel track revolves around Janaki's brother Tej Bahadur (played by Mohit Malik) and Kesar (Diana Penty). How all their lives converge forms the rest of the story, set in pre-Independence India.
