MADURAI: Former Kerala education minister MA Baby was elected as the General Secretary of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) at the party's 24th All India Conference in Madurai on Sunday.
Mariam Alexander Baby, commonly known as MA Baby, was a member of the Rajya Sabha of the CPI (M) from 1986 to 1998. The party highlighted that the newly elected Central Committee has 20 per cent women members.
