Intensity of rains to increase, warns IMD

A low-pressure area has developed over the west-central and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal, off the north Andhra Pradesh and south Odisha coasts, and is likely to intensify into a depression within the next 24 hours, bringing widespread and heavy rainfall over central India and the west coast, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
