Cases of phone tapping should be probed: Pilot

Senior Congress leader Sachin Pilot on Wednesday said that any phone tapping case that happened during the present or the previous government should seriously be investigated.
JAIPUR:
"Phone tapping is a serious allegation. Any such case, now or before, should be investigated. Anyone guilty should be punished. The previous matter is also sub judice. Truth will prevail," Pilot said during a press conference in Jaipur while responding to the rampant phone-tapping allegations recently levelled by BJP minister Kirodi Lal Meena and earlier by some of his supporters during 2020 political crisis — both against their own governments.
The development came after an undated video of Meena from Jaipur's Amagarh temple went viral on social media on Friday, in which he claimed that the government has deputed police officers to keep an eye on him and also tapped his phones for raising issues of corruption and criticising the government for not clamping down on cases of graft.
