4 Killed as Fire Breaks Out at Hotel in Ajmer

Four people were killed and five others were injured after a fire broke out at a five-storey hotel in Rajasthan's Ajmer on Thursday, officials said.

Ajmer collector Lok Bondhu said, "A massive fire broke out due to a suspected short circuit in the first floor of the hotel in Diggi Bazaar area around 8am. Four people, including two men, a woman and a child died due to suffocation after the flames engulfed the entire building. Five fire tenders and police personnel rushed to the spot and the flame was brought under control around 10am. The narrow lanes leading up to the hotel hampered the rescue work."

Many boarders jumped off the building to save their lives while many got stuck in fire. The injured ones were rushed to the JLN Govt Medical College Hospital Ajmer, fire brigade officials said, adding there were 30 boarders at the time of the incident.
