SC to Hear Bengal Plea Against OBC Order on Jan 28

The Supreme Court on Tuesday posted to January 28 and 29 the final hearing in a petition filed by the West Bengal government, challenging a Calcutta high court verdict that struck down the other backward classes (OBC) status of 77 communities, mostly Muslims, in the eastern state.
NEW DELHI:
"Whatever we decide will be prior to the commencement of the academic session," a bench of justices Bhushan R Gavai and Augustine George Masih said.
