New Registration Plate Proposed for Hydrogen Fuel Vehicles

NEW DELHI: The Union government has proposed a new colour-coded number plate system for hydrogen vehicles, according to a gazette notification issued by the Union ministry of road transport and Highways.

The notification, dated June 26, proposes that private cars will have boards with green (top) and blue (bottom) halves, while the figures will be in white. Similarly, for commercial vehicles, the boards will be green (top half) and blue (bottom half), while for cabs, the board will be black (top half) and blue (bottom half). The figures will be in yellow for both cabs and commercial vehicles.

All stakeholders will be allowed to send their objections and comments on the proposal to the ministry, the notification further said.
