Directive to identify duplicate voters

The Bihar state election department has issued directives to all district election officers in the state to identify duplicate voters in the rolls, if any, and remove them as part of the Election Commission of India's (ECI's) instructions that all discrepancies in the rolls should be addressed.

The ECI, in recent days, has held meetings with chief electoral officers (CEOs) of states and other election officers by laying emphasis on addressing any complaint or anomalies raised by political parties in connection with voters' list and also asked the CEOs, electoral registration officers and district election officers to hold regular meetings with political parties.
