Bihar govt schools shut for summer vacation after PTM

All government schools, from primary to higher secondary levels, in Bihar have been closed for summer vacation with the full-scale parent-teacher meeting (PTM) on Saturday.

PATNA: Summer vacation will continue till June 22.

It is for the first time when all schools were mandated to hold the PTM and interact with guardians of the students, apprise them about regular academic progress of their children and sensitize them about the measures to help their children grow in studies. Although the PTM has been started in the government schools, like those in the private schools, headmasters of all over 72,600 primary and middle schools and over 9,300 secondary and higher secondary schools were told to strictly comply with the orders.

The teachers also sought the feedback from the parents on ways to improve the academic environment of the schools.
