Parl Panel Seeks Details of Action Against Influencers for 'Harming' National Interest

The parliamentary standing committee on communications and information technology, in an office memorandum, has sought from two ministries details of action taken against social media influencers and platforms that it alleged are "against the interests of the country" in the aftermath of the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam.

In the memorandum, addressed to the secretaries of the ministries of electronics and Information technology (MeitY) and information and broadcasting (I&B), the panel alleged that some social media voices appeared to be inciting violence through their content.
