Ex-NSG staffer, family robbed at home

An 86-year-old retired assistant commandant of the National Security Guard (NSG) and three members of his family were held hostage at gunpoint and robbed of diamond and gold jewellery worth around ₹30 lakh at their home in Kinari Bazar near Chandni Chowk on Saturday morning, police said on Monday.
The assailants—three unidentified men—posed as prospective property buyers and forced their way into the house, held the family hostage, ransacked two rooms, and escaped with valuables after locking the victims in the kitchen and taking away their mobile phones.
“We have registered a case of robbery with attempt to cause death or grievous hurt under sections 309 and 311 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS),” said Raja Banthia, deputy commissioner of police (North).
