Amusement park death: Police to act against manager, owner

Days after a 24-year-old woman died after falling from a ride at an amusement park in Kapashera, southwest Delhi, police on Sunday said that they will take action against the manager and the owner of the park for alleged negligence.

NEW DELHI: Days after a 24-year-old woman died after falling from a ride at an amusement park in Kapashera, southwest Delhi, police on Sunday said that they will take action against the manager and the owner of the park for alleged negligence.

"A case on charges of causing death by negligence, among other sections, was registered. We are trying to ascertain whose negligence led to the incident. Action against the manager and owner may be taken after due diligence and investigation," said a police officer familiar with the matter.

The incident took place at the Fun N Food Water and Amusement Park on Thursday. The deceased, Priyanka Rawat, was on what is called a top spin ride with her fiancé, 26-year-old Nikhil Singh, when she was flung off when the ride was at its highest—some 25 feet above the ground. The park was partially sealed after the tragedy.
