Man who stuffed wife's body in bag held after suicide bid

A 36-year-old man who allegedly murdered his wife and hid her body inside a suitcase in their Bengaluru apartment was arrested after a failed suicide attempt in Maharashtra.

PUNE/BENGALURU: A 36-year-old man who allegedly murdered his wife and hid her body inside a suitcase in their Bengaluru apartment was arrested after a failed suicide attempt in Maharashtra. The accused, identified as Rakesh Rajendra Khedekar, was found in a semi-conscious state near Shirwal in Satara district, where he had reportedly consumed poison. He is currently undergoing treatment in Pune.

According to Shirwal police, Rakesh pulled over his Honda City near the roadside after feeling dizzy. Locals noticed him collapsing outside the car and alerted the authorities. "During the investigation, the man identified himself as Rakesh Khedekar and admitted to having killed his wife in Bengaluru before heading toward Mumbai," said Yashwant Nalavade, inspector, Shirwal Police Station.
