6 More Killed in Assam, Death Toll Rises to 17 in Rain-Related Incidents

Floods continued to wreak havoc in Assam on Tuesday as six more deaths were reported in the past 24 hours, officials aware of the matter said.

One death each has been reported in Sribhumi, Cachar, Hailakandi, Sonitpur, Tinsukia and Morigaon, none of them due to landslides, Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) officials said, adding that the toll has risen to 17.
