Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday called upon top police officers from across the country to realign policing practices with the national vision of a Viksit Bharat, emphasising the need to modernise systems, “transform public perception of the police” by “enhancing professionalism and sensitivity”.

“This year's DGP/IGP Conference was an extremely productive one. We all discussed various aspects in line with the theme of ‘Viksit Bharat: Security Dimensions.’ Emphasised the need to keep focusing on professionalism, sensitivity and responsiveness as far as the police forces are concerned,” Modi said in a post on X.

The PM was speaking on the concluding day of the 60th All India Conference of Director Generals and Inspector Generals of Police at the Indian Institute of Management in Raipur, held under the theme “Viksit Bharat: Security Dimensions”.
