Skipper Pant likely to open for LSG

Focus on playing attacking cricket this season and relying heavily on new skipper Rishabh Pant seem to have been the new success mantra of Lucknow Super Giants in the upcoming Indian Premier League season starting Saturday.

For sure, given the situation, Pant may be opening the innings for the franchise as he is the one who can destroy any kind of attack and team's think tank must have planned to let him start the attack from the very first ball, making lives difficult for bowlers especially in the powerplay.

Pant's ability to exploit conditions early in the game will surely help the side get a good start before other big hitters like Nicolas Pooran, Aiden Markram, Mitchell Marsh, Nicholas Pooran and David Miller as well as Ayush Badoni take charge.

"Pant has been a big hitter. As captain, he has a lot of responsibility and the best thing about his batting is that he enjoys it and can overpower any kind of bowling attacks on a given day," LSG mentor Zaheer Khan believes.

"We would like to see Pant batting in his free-flow style as it suits our game plan," Zaheer said.
