Jal Shakti minister Swatantra Dev Singh on Tuesday said there is adequate potable water in the state, especially in Bundelkhand region, adding for irrigation purpose water has been stored in the dams located in Bundelkhand, Mirzapur and Sonbhadra regions.

Replying to the adjournment motion moved by Samajwadi Party in the legislative assembly, Singh said, "The Centre launched the Jal Jeevan Mission in 2019 to supply drinking water to the rural households. The government had planned to achieve the target by December 2024."
