SRINAGAR: Moderate rain and snowfall is likely from Tuesday as one more Western Disturbance will be active over J&K for next three to four days and MeT department has issued a yellow warning asking people in higher reaches.

MeT office in a daily bulletin on Monday said the weather will remain dry till February 24. "For next three days, the weather will remain generally cloudy with light to moderate rain and snow at most places towards 25th evening/night to 28th late night with isolated heavy rain and snow over both Kashmir division & Jammu division during the above period."

MeT office said that fresh Western Disturbance could lead to temporary disruption of surface transportation mainly over Sadhna pass, Razdhan Pass, Sonamarg-Zojila-Gumri axis, Mughal Road, Sinthan pass & other major roads of hilly districts. "Tourists/travellers/transporters are advised to plan accordingly and follow admin/traffic advisory. Farmers are advised to suspend irrigation and other farm operations." The MeT office has issued a yellow warning asking people living in higher reaches to remain cautious and keep themselves updated about weather conditions. MeT office had earlier said that J&K could witness back to back spells of rain in next three weeks which could result in normal precipitation.

Meanwhile the Kashmir witnessed bright sunshine throughout the day and temperature at all the weather stations was above normal.
