Woman Kills Differently Abled Teen Daughter, Disposes of Body; Booked

A 39-year-old woman in Thane has been booked for murdering her 17-year-old differently abled daughter by poisoning her, and disposing of her body with the help of her mother and a third woman who is yet to be identified, police said on Monday.

While the deceased was identified as Yashasvi Pawar, her mother has been identified as Snehal Pawar, and Snehal's mother Surekha Mahangade, 60.

The crime took place in the Gaodevi area of Naupada and a video of the accused disposing of the body has been widely circulated on social media.

The victim, who suffered from a physical disability since birth, was unable to walk or talk and was bedridden. Reports indicate she was suffering from a severe illness since February 15, said the police.
