Kolkata Man Confesses To Killing Kin

One of the men undergoing treatment following what appeared to be an accident in Kolkata on February 19 has confessed to killing his wife and sister-in-law by slashing their wrists on February 18 after an alleged suicide pact failed, police officials said, adding that the elder brother of the main accused mixed sedatives in the food consumed by the family of six on the night of February 17.

“The younger of the two men has confessed that it was he who slashed the wrists of the two women — his wife and his sister-in-law — while his elder brother confessed to have mixed the sedatives (sleeping pills and anti-hypertensive tablets) in the kheer which the family members ate on the night of February 17,” a senior police officer said.
