GMR justifies up to 528% hike in Delhi user fee

NEW DELHI: A day after the airport tariff regulator, the Airports Economic Regulatory Authority of India (AERA), allowed Delhi airport to increase the user development fee (UDF) by up to 528%, private operator GMR Group justified the hike on the grounds that it would enhance infrastructure at the airport and help position it as a global aviation hub.
GMR emphasised that the increase in aeronautical charges, effective from April 16, aligns with the consultation paper circulated by AERA in January.
