'WE SHOULD STOP USING THE TERM PAN-INDIA ACTOR'

Priya Mani Raj, who is set for the release of The Family Man Season 3 next month, has worked in both regional and Hindi industries, but is averse to the tag of “pan-India actor”. Expressing her disapproval, she says, “We're all Indian at the end of the day. You get work in other industries, and that's a good thing, but you don't call someone a ‘regional actor’ when they come from Bollywood to the South. For years, actors from both sides have worked across languages. Why are we suddenly labeling them now? Accept us for who we are and for the characters we play.”

Talking about the overanalysis and criticism of films today, the 41-year-old says, “People have become oversensitive. It's okay to have opinions, but don’t overanalyse or try to influence others. Watch a film for what it is. So many people put in hard work, just appreciate that.”
