Tribal couple forced to plough field for deciding to marry

Police in an Odisha village have launched a probe after videos ofa mob tying a couple to a wooden yoke and forcing them to plough a field, as ameans of punishment for martying against the wishes of the community, emerged on social media.

The incident took place in Kanjamajhira village of Rayagada district a week ago. In the video, people can be seen tying the couple to the yoke and forcing them to plough the field while they also beat them with wooden sticks.
