Occupation certificates of 843 houses to be scrapped

The department of town and country planning (DTCP) on Wednesday said that it had recommended that the occupation certificates of 843 more houses, which have violated building norms or are running illegal commercial operations should be revoked in DLF phases two and three, officials aware of the matter said.

Earlier, the department had recommended that occupation certificates of 745 houses should be revoked due to violation of urban development laws. The enforcement wing of the DTCP said that they have written letters pertaining to each of the 843 such properties to the planning wing of the department, after issuing show cause notices and restoration notices to the owners of these plots as they had not taken any corrective measures or removed the violations identified by the department.

The department also said that violations carried out by owners of these houses are not compoundable.
