|October 30, 2025
Severe cyclonic storm “Montha” which made landfall near Narasapur between Kakinada and Machilipatnam in Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday evening, left a trail of destruction across the coastal Andhra, leaving two people dead and causing widespread damage to homes, crops, and infrastructure.
Hundreds of trees and electricity poles were uprooted, powerlines were snapped, and the road and rail network disrupted. The heavy downpour resulted in flash floods to several streams, inundating several low-lying areas.
