HMRTC Eyes More Power Supply for Rapid Metro

GURUGRAM: The Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation (HMRTC) has asked the state power distribution utility Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Ltd (HVPNL) to provide electricity from the 220kv substation located in Sector 57, in an attempt to ensure that the Rapid Metro rail, which runs between Cyber Hub and Sector 56 can function smoothly, officials aware of the matter said.
The Rapid Metro, at present, has two power connections and it draws power from Sector 28 and Sector 56 power substations in the city.
According to the HMRTC, several incidents of power failure have occurred in the past and no alternatives were available to ensure smooth supply of power due to poor capacity of the Sector 28 substation.
