GURUGRAM: In a move that has triggered a fresh political storm, newly-elected Gurugram mayor Raj Rani Malhotra has recommended her husband, Tilak Raj Malhotra, a former BJP district president, as her official advisor to the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG).
The appointment, formalized through a letter issued by MCG commissioner Ashok Kumar Garg on April 21, has reignited concerns over the growing trend of proxy representation in civic administration.
HT has seen a copy of the letter issued by the MCG chief to appoint the advisor.
