Dhami Pushes for Launch of Green Char Dham Yatra

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday reviewed preparations for the upcoming Char Dham Yatra and asked officials to launch the Green Char Dham Yatra campaign and prepare master plans for the winter abodes of Char Dham shrines.

"Along with the launch of the Green Char Dham Yatra campaign, widespread awareness campaigns about single-use plastic for the Char Dham Yatra should be conducted," Dhami told officials.

The Green Char Dham Yatra campaign will focus on promoting eco-friendly practices during the pilgrimage, such as reducing pollution, minimizing the use of single-use plastics, ensuring the conservation of the environment along the pilgrimage routes, according to officials. The Char Dham Yatra will start on April 30 this year.

During the review meeting, the CM directed officials concerned to prepare master plans for the winter abodes of the Char Dham shrines. He said the surrounding areas of winter abodes of Char Dhams should also be developed.
