NOW THE FAT IN YOUR SAMOSA, JALEBI WILL BE ON PUBLIC DISPLAY

As the Health Ministry asks central institutions to display health warnings on snacks, experts weigh in on the move

Samosas and jalebis are among the most beloved snacks for many Indians.

But soon, they might come with warning labels, just like cigarettes. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Monday instructed all central government institutions, including AIIMS Nagpur, to install oil and sugar boards in canteens and public spaces. These boards will display the fat, sugar, and calorie content of commonly consumed snacks, including vada pav, chai, biscuits and ladoos.
