DTC HAS INVITED BIDS FROM AGENCIES TO ADVERTISE ON UNIPOLES INSTALLED AT 42 PRIME BUS DEPOTS AND TERMINALS
NEW DELHI: The Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) has invited bids from agencies to advertise on unipoles already installed across 42 prime bus depots and terminals in the city, officials said on Thursday. These unipoles, lying unused for years, are now being offered as part of a wider effort to boost DTC's non-fare revenue.
A recent audit by Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG), tabled in the Delhi Assembly, highlighted DTC's failure to tap into alternative revenue streams. It noted that despite having unipoles and buses available for Bus Body Wraps (BBW), DTC failed to execute contracts between 2015 and 2022, resulting in a loss of ₹40.57 crore.
Officials said the new tendering process marks the beginning of a renewed push to monetise advertising space.
