At WWDC, Apple Outlines Recalibrated AI Approach

Apple made a perceptible shift towards baking the company's artificial intelligence suite into its product lineup at the firm's flagship software event, the Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) on Monday, even as the tech giant built on the AI vision it laid down last year.

Apple also gave its software lines across products a significant refresh, in what was more than just a new coat of paint.

In its keynote, the company's top executives outlined a pivot towards a more task-focused AI approach that leverages its developer base to deliver AI-powered functionalities to people using on-device models.

"We believe deeply in providing developers with the newest tools and technologies to help them do their very best work," said Apple CEO Tim Cook, at the keynote.

AI adoption hasn't been simple for Apple. Many of the long-awaited AI features Apple promised at the same conference a year ago have been delayed, even as its rivals like Google and Microsoft woo developers with a bevvy of new AI-forward functionality.
