Spare part crunch cripples PRTC operations

Reportedly, the problem stems from an inadequate supply of critical components like batteries, radial tyres, rubber rings, and nitrogen-based sensors; vital for keeping the fleet roadworthy, officials added.

‘According to PRTC workshop officials, the procurement of these expensive parts is handled through a centralised system, which has seen months of delays. This has led to frequent breakdowns and disruptions in service, putting pressure on the already stretched fleet.
