Yatnal denies rumours of joining ruling Congress

BENGALURU: Member of legislative assembly (MLA) Basanagouda Patil Yatnal, who was expelled from the BJP, has firmly denied speculation about joining the Congress on Tuesday while speaking to the media in Koppal. His comments come after pictures and videos of a recent meeting with Dharwad district Congress committee (rural) president Anilkumar Patil circulated online.

The speculation was further fuelled by Congress MLA Raju Kage's statement that he would attempt to bring Yatnal into the party if the high command approved.

The meeting reportedly took place at a hotel near Hiriyur in Tumakuru district, where the two leaders are said to have engaged in a brief discussion about political developments following Yatnal's expulsion from the BJP.
