Two senior leaders of the banned Communist Party of India (Maoist), who had been operating from the forests of Chhattisgarh, surrendered to the Telangana police on Thursday, police officers familiar with the matter said.
Mala Sanjeev alias Lengu Dada (62), originally from Medchal-Malkajgiri district, a secretariat member of the Dandakaranya Special Zonal Committee (DKSZC) and his wife Perugula Parvathi alias Deena (50) from Nagarkurnool district, also a member of the DKSZC, surrendered before Rachakonda police commissioner Sudheer Babu.
