Microsoft to skill 2 million Indians for AI: Nadella

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella on Wednesday, praised India’s ability to successfully lock into what he called a virtuous cycle of policy, programmes, a technology stack and the broader market for artificial intelligence (AI).

“It's the private sector participating fully, whether it's in payments, healthcare, or insurance, which is tremendous to see. In fact, Bill (Gates) loves India’s stack and he always asks me, can I take this stack and put in another country? And I always say, you can't just take the stack by itself. You've to take it in entirety,” notes Nadella.

“We will help skill 2 million people in India for AI,” said Nadella, announcing the company’s commitment, which will focus on smaller towns as well. On Tuesday, Microsoft announced a $17.5 billion investment in India over the next four years to build Al infrastructure. The $17.5 billion investment commitment for India, is Microsoft's largest yet in Asia
