BENGALURU: A group of four masked people robbed an areca nut trader from Kerala of ₹1.5 lakh and took away his car in Mysuru on Monday, police said. This comes days after daylight robberies took place in Bidar and Mangaluru.
District superintendent of police (SP) N Vishnuvardhan said that the incident took place near Harohalli on HD Kote Road. "The robbery occurred around 9.15am involving a car of Mohammed Ashraf from Kerala. A group of four masked miscreants snatched a cash bag containing ₹1.5 lakh by threatening the victims with knives and fled the scene."
"Three special teams have been formed to solve the case, and both Ashraf and Sufi are being questioned for additional information. I have instructed border check posts around Mysuru to intensively inspect all vehicles. We have also communicated with the Wayanad SP in Kerala regarding this matter," he said.
