Hierarchy in judiciary operates like caste system: Madhya Pradesh HC

The Jabalpur bench of the Madhya Pradesh high court had quashed a dismissal order of a special judge by its administrative side, likening the relationship between high court and district judiciary to that between upper and lower castes in the caste system.

The court was hearing a plea by a former judicial officer Jagat Mohan Chaturvedi against his 2015 dismissal from service as judge of a district court after he gave interim bail to eight accused in the VYA-PAM case and rejected the bail of 19 other co-accused for alleged “extraneous consideration”. He was dismissed despite no evidence being found against him in an inquiry.
