Ahead of the sowing season during the monsoon season, the farmers across Raichur, Koppal, Vijayanagara, and Ballari districts who are dependent on the Tungabhadra reservoir remain uncertain as the repair work of the crest gate that washed away about a year ago remains incomplete.
BELAGAVI: Ahead of the sowing season during the monsoon season, the farmers across Raichur, Koppal, Vijayanagara, and Ballari districts who are dependent on the Tungabhadra reservoir remain uncertain as the repair work of the crest gate that washed away about a year ago remains incomplete.
The incident occurred late night on August 9 when the 19th gate of the Tungabhadra reservoir, located near Koppal, was swept away after its chain link broke on August 10 last year. This led to the release of a significant volume of water downstream, prompting authorities to issue alerts in the surrounding areas.
