Police in Dakshina Kannada have filed three separate cases in connection with the spread of false information and abusive online content related to the ongoing Dharmasthala case.
In one of the FIRs, Dharmasthala police registered an FIR against YouTuber MD Sameer for allegedly uploading a misleading video on his channel. The video, according to investigators, amplified unverified claims and included AI-generated visuals, falsely portraying them as facts in connection with the alleged serial murder and burial of bodies in the temple town.
