HYDERABAD: The Andhra Pradesh government on Friday announced allotment of 21.31 acres of prime land in the port city of Visakhapatnam to Cognizant Technology Solutions at 99 paise to establish a world-class campus for Information Technology/IT Enabled Solutions with ₹1,582.98 crore investment.
A decision to this effect was taken at the State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) meeting chaired by chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu in Amaravati on Thursday.
Cognizant is the second IT major to be allotted land in Visakhapatnam, after Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), which was allocated 21.16 acres of land on April 16 this year. TCS, too, was given the land at a nominal price of 99 paise, at IT Hill No. 3, to set up an IT campus at a cost of ₹1,370 crore that would generate 12,000 new jobs.
