Soldier killed in exchange of fire with terrorists in Sopore

Operation still on, forces have cordoned the area near the hideout of terrorists, say officials
SRINAGAR: An Indian Army soldier was killed on Monday during an encounter with terrorists in Sopore town of Baramulla district in Jammu & Kashmir, officials said.
The soldier, identified as sepoy Pangala Kartheek, died following an exchange of fire with terrorists at their hideout in Gujjarpatti Zaloora area of Sopore. The incident took place during the second day of a joint operation of the army, police, and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). Kashmir Inspector General of Police (IGP) Virdhi Kumar Birdhi said that the operation was still ongoing as of Monday evening.
