No special rights for MPs in detention to attend House: NIA to court

Parliamentarians have no special right to attend House proceedings while in detention, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) told a Delhi court on Wednesday, opposing custody parole for incarcerated Jammu and Kashmir MP Engineer Rashid.

The agency argued that Rashid's plea to participate in parliamentary sessions solely to raise issues of his constituency was not a valid ground for parole.
